Fanuc Alarm: 0 – PLEASE TURN OFF POWER
This alarm appears in Fanuc control systems when a change has been made to the system’s memory or parameters that requires a restart of the machine to take effect.
This is usually not a “fatal” fault, but rather an instruction to refresh the system.
Fanus Control Model: This is one of the most direct and common alarms found on Fanuc Series 0 (0-M, 0-T, 0-GC, etc.) controls.
Description
This alarm indicates that a change has been made to the machine’s system parameters that cannot be applied immediately.
The purpose of this alarm is to force the machine controller to safely ‘reboot’ so that the new settings can be loaded correctly into the system software.
How to Fix Alarm
Follow these steps to fix it:
- If you were typing any data, make sure it has been saved.
- Press the red NC Power Off button on the machine’s operator panel.
- For best results, also turn off the main handle/breaker located behind the machine’s electrical cabinet.
- Wait for about 10 to 15 seconds to allow all electrical charges (Capacitors) to dissipate.
- Turn on the main switch and then start the machine from the control panel.
Note:If this alarm still occurs, it means that you have changed a parameter that the system is not accepting or the parameter write-enable is still on. In such a case, double check that the PWE value should be at 0.
